These terms and conditions must be read prior to any booking being made. Failure to do so may result in your booking being cancelled and no refund given.
Segway Aberdeen will operate in most weather conditions but they reserve the right to cancel operation if they consider that weather conditions may affect the safety of the participant. A full refund or alternative date will be offered in the rare occasion of this happening.
If a participant is late and the booked tour has already started, they will not be permitted to join. If their is sufficient space on a later tour on the same day, they will be offered a space. If no space available, no refund or alternative dates will be given. It is advised that you arrive around 15 minutes prior to start of tour.
Each participant will be required to sign a printed copy of these terms and conditions, failure to do so will result in their tour being cancelled.
Any participant under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a paying adult aged 18 or over, who has signed these terms and conditions. No one aged 16 or 17 can supervise and under 16 year old.
Segway Aberdeen reserves the right to use any photographs or video they have captured during any of their tours. These may be used for promotional purposes.
PARTICIPANT REQUIREMENTS FOR FULL TOUR
- Must be at least 11 years of age (9 for Parties and Schools activities)
- Must weight at least 45 kg (7 stone) and must be no heavier than 117kg (19 stone). (35kg for parties and Schools)
- Must wear issued safety helmet
- Must wear sturdy footwear, i.e. trainers etc. No heels, flip flops or open front/backed shoes.
- Must be able to step on and off the base of the Segway unassisted. This is approximately 20 cm high.
- Must follow all guidance and safety briefings given by Tour Instructor. Failure to do so may result in your tour being terminated if your riding is deemed unsafe.
- Must inform instructor of any impairments (sight, hearing, balance etc.) which may affect their safety whilst using the Segway.
If you suffer from any back injuries, limb injuries, health problems, or are pregnant, you will not be permitted to participate on our Segways.
It is a riders responsibility to ensure they are fit to ride a Segway and should consult their own doctor if in doubt.
PARTICIPANTS MUST NOT BE UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF DRUGS OR ALCOHOL.
CODE OF CONDUCT
Segway Aberdeen operate a zero tolerance policy concerning antisocial behaviour of anyone on their site. Antisocial behaviour includes but not limited to, verbal or physical abuse of employees, customers, equipment, acting in a loud, intimidating or obnoxious manner.
If participants behaviour is deemed to be unacceptable and they fail to desist when required, they will be precluded form participating in a tour, or if a tour has started, their tour will be terminated immediately without refund.
Participants must not stop on the tour without direction from the instructor and keep in close formation to the other group participants. Whilst off road, participants must be in single file.
No racing or deliberate contact will take place whilst riding the Segways.
Participants must follow guidance given by instructor at all times and tours may be suspended if riders are deemed to be acting in an unsafe way and will only resume when a safe riding style is adhered to.
Segway Aberdeen pride itself in operating in a clean environment and ask all participants to not drop their litter on site.
If you need to cancel your booking for any reason, please inform Segway Aberdeen immediately by telephone or email. If you provide more that 48 hours notice from your scheduled booking, we can reschedule or offer a full refund (excluding vouchers). If you provide less than 48 hours notice and we are unable to resell your booking, we are unable to offer a refund.
Segway Aberdeen reserves the right to stop any participant, prior to commencement, during training or during operation, from participating in any of their Segway Tours, if they are deemed not to meet Participant Requirements or do not follow the Code of Conduct, as specified in these terms and conditions. In such cases, no refunds will be given.
If Segway Aberdeen has to cancel tours due to adverse weather conditions or other unforeseen circumstances, a refund or alternative date will be offered. Segway Aberdeen will make all reasonable efforts to inform participants of such cancellations. Segway Aberdeen cannot be held liable for any costs or losses affected participants may incur.
There is a risk of injury or death when using a Segway PT (personal transporter). Segway Aberdeen will provide sufficient training and supervision so as to minimise all reasonable risks, however, you acknowledge that use of a Segway PT is undertaken at your own risk. The Training provided may be video recorded.
You agree that Segway Aberdeen is not responsible for any personal injury, death, loss or damage which may occur, unless it occurs as a direct result of their negligence.
If you cause any damage, loss, injury or death, as a result of inappropriate actions not resulting from the operators negligence, you accept liability for those actions and agree to be held accountable for them.
